• Instructor Financial Data: To process payouts and comply with tax regulations (such as ERCA reporting), we collect banking details, mobile wallet numbers (e.g., Telebirr, CBE Birr), and Tax Identification Numbers (TIN).
• Shared Content: Parts of our Platform allow you to interact with other users. Course reviews, forum posts, and project uploads are stored and may be publicly visible.

B. Data We Collect Automatically

• System Data: IP address, device type, operating system, and browser type.
• Usage Data: Which courses you view, time spent on pages, search queries, quiz results, and interactions with video players (powered by our AWS infrastructure).
• Transactional Data: When you purchase a course, our system logs the transaction details (including idempotency keys for security), but we do not store your full credit card numbers. Payments are securely processed through our integrated gateways (e.g., Chapa, BeyaPay).

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to provide our services, improve your experience, and ensure a secure ecosystem:

• Providing the Service: Granting access to courses, issuing certificates, and processing secure payments.
• Instructor Payouts & Compliance: Calculating commission splits, managing the monthly 1st–5th payout window, and withholding necessary taxes for national revenue compliance.
• Personalization: Utilizing AI-driven insights to recommend the exact courses and strategic learning paths to elevate your career.
• Communication: Sending administrative messages, course updates, purchase receipts, and responding to support inquiries.
• Security & Fraud Prevention: Monitoring for unauthorized access, resolving race conditions in transactions, and ensuring platform integrity.

3. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it under the following circumstances:

• With Instructors: We share data about your course progress and quiz results with your instructors so they can improve their content and support your learning. (We do not share your email address with instructors).
• With Service Providers: We use trusted third-party companies acting on our behalf, such as cloud hosting providers (AWS), payment gateways, and data analytics services.
• For Corporate & Parent Accounts: If your access is provisioned by your employer or parent, they may have access to your progress reports and completion metrics.
• For Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information to government entities (such as ERCA for tax remittance) or law enforcement if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Gasha Digital Technology, our users, or the public.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. Our financial infrastructure utilizes an immutable ledger system to prevent tampering and ensure all transactions are accurate. However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and secure.

5. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:

• Access & Update: Log into your account settings to update your profile and payment information at any time.
• Delete Your Account: You can request the permanent deletion of your account. Please note that certain transactional ledgers and tax-related records must be retained for legal compliance.
• Opt-Out of Marketing: You can unsubscribe from promotional emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the emails.

6. International Data Transfers

Siltawi is built for the African market and hosted on global cloud infrastructure. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your data in locations outside of your country of residence, including servers located in the US and Europe, safeguarded by standard data protection clauses.

7. Children’s Privacy

While we serve students and their parents, children under the age of 13 (or the required age of consent in your region) must have their accounts created and managed by a parent, guardian, or educational institution. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from young children without verified parental consent.
